WhatsApp has retired the green tick. Verified businesses now get a blue badge, the same one you see on Instagram and Facebook. There are two ways to earn it, plus a third kind of verification that people often mistake for it.
You prove to Meta that your business is real, using your legal name, address, and website in Meta Business Suite. There's no badge at the end of it. What you do get is a higher limit on how many people you can message first each day: 2,000 instead of 250. Meta decides within 14 business days.
A paid monthly subscription for the free WhatsApp Business app, with impersonation protection and in-app support from Meta. The blue badge comes with it, but Meta reviews you first, so it isn't guaranteed. Price and availability vary by country and by business.
The route for numbers on the WhatsApp Business API, which is what Tobachat runs on. You request the badge in WhatsApp Manager, with no subscription. Meta then checks whether your brand is notable, based on news coverage. Paid or promotional articles don't count.
This comes first. Start it in the Security Center in Meta Business Suite and allow up to 14 business days.
It needs at least 30 days on the platform, an approved display name, and two-step verification turned on.
In WhatsApp Manager, open Overview, pick the number, and fill in the form. Add up to 5 links to coverage of your business in well-known publications.
You'll hear back either way. If it's a no, you can apply again after 30 days. There's no appeal.
