Partners

Working as a partner

You create accounts for your clients, help them connect their number, and decide for each one who pays for the plan: the client, or you at the buy-in price.

Create a client

In your partner account, open Clients and choose New client. Enter the company name and your client's email address. We create the account and email your client, who picks a password and becomes the account owner. You keep access, so you can start setting things up right away.

Clients who sign up through your partner link show up under Clients too. Request access to their account from there, and they approve it.

The connect link

Your client connects their WhatsApp number themselves, whenever they're ready. Until they do, their row in Clients has a Send connect link button. To send it yourself, over WhatsApp for example, copy it from the row menu.

Send it as often as you like. You'll get an email once the number is connected.

Who pays

For each client, you choose who pays for the plan. Set it when you create the client, or later from Clients.

  • The client: they pick a plan and pay us. You earn the commission we agreed with you.
  • You, at the buy-in price: you pay us and charge your client whatever you like, even less than our list price. There's no commission on this client, since your margin is the difference.

The buy-in price

You pay our list price minus 35%, so Start costs you €18.85 a month instead of €29, excluding VAT. Once you pay for 10 or more clients on a paid plan, the discount goes up to 45%.

The higher rate kicks in as soon as you reach your 10th client, from each subscription's next billing period. If you drop below 10, it only goes back to 35% at the end of the quarter.

The first time you pay for a client, you accept the partner terms and check out by card or SEPA Direct Debit. Every client after that takes one click, on the same payment method.

Only the owner of the partner account can buy, change, or cancel. Team members see everything but can't make changes.

Your client never sees our prices. Their billing page says they're billed through your agency and shows your contact details.

Change or cancel a plan

Buy-in is month to month. Change a client's plan from Clients whenever you like, and we prorate the difference.

You cancel per client. It takes effect at the end of the current month, and you can undo it until then. After that, the client moves to the Free plan and their inbox keeps working.

Extra conversations

If a client needs more conversations, you can add 100 for €10, our list price. It goes on your invoice.

When your client runs low, they can ask you for more with one click in their account. The request reaches you by email.

Questions from your clients

For clients you pay for, you're the first point of contact. Questions and feedback they send from Tobachat go to your email. Bug reports and personal data requests still come to us.

If you get stuck, email us and we'll help you out.

Invoices and VAT

You have one account and one payment method for all your clients. Every invoice arrives on the 1st of the month, and the first one is prorated. Billing in your partner account shows what you pay each month, and the button there takes you to your invoices, payment method, address, and VAT number.

Invoices are made out to your agency. In the Netherlands we charge 21% VAT. Elsewhere in the EU, with a valid VAT number, the VAT is reverse charged. Outside the EU, no Dutch VAT applies. Where your client is based doesn't matter.

Your client still pays Meta's message fees directly, as always.

Switching

If an existing client pays for their own plan today, open their row in Clients and choose to pay for them. The client approves it under Settings, Billing. You're billed from the end of the period they already paid for, so nobody pays twice.

If the client wants to pay for themselves again, choose Let client pay directly in their row. You pay until the end of your period; their own plan only starts after that. If that falls within your commission term, your commission picks up again.

If you stop

If an invoice is still unpaid after our reminders, that client's subscription ends and they move to the Free plan. Their inbox keeps working, and their data and WhatsApp number stay theirs. We email them once with the option to pay us directly.

If you stop being a partner, your clients carry on with us directly.
